CHENNAI:The Seminar on Promoting Inclusive Environment for Advancing Leadership of Persons with Disabilities organised by the Department of MSW in Disability and Empowerment, MSSW, the AROHA Students’ Forum was a grand success with good participation of 210 persons from college students from across Tamilnadu and civil society members.

This event was a collaboration between MSSW and Nethrodaya.
The event was inaugurated by Chief Guest Thiru. Sudhan, I.A.S.(RTD.), State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, GoTN, The Guest of Honour Mr. C. Govindakrishnan, Founder of Nethrodaya and Principal of mssw Dr.S. Raja Samuel.

This was followed by Plenary sessions by Mr. Prabakaran, Supreme Court Lawyer and Mr.C. Chandra Babu, Executive Director, NIPMR.

The panel discussion was interactive with resource persons like Dr. Chidambaram, University of Pondicherry, Mr. Varadakutty, State Secretary of Udavikkaram,
Ms. Smitha Sadasivan, Member, State Advisory Board for PwDs, GoTN, and Ms.Sumiya Khalid, Incharge of PM Divyanjan Kendra and Mr. C. Govindakrishnan, Founder of Nethrodaya.

The event came to an end with singing of the MoU with two organisations – V-SHESH and Nethrodaya.

Mr. Shashank Awasthi delivered the Valedictory Address and prizes were distributed to the winners of EmpowerFest 2024 an Inter-collegiate Competition.
